Welcome to our lesson titled: “The Canon of Scripture,” a foundational component of our 3-credit course, Origins of the Bible. Our goal today is twofold. First, we will historically trace the formation of the biblical canon. Second, we will cultivate a deeper respect for the careful and divinely guided process by which the canon was recognized—not invented—by the early church.
