Welcome to this two (2) week intense study on Grief Counseling in fulfilling the requirements for the Chaplaincy Program. As always, let the Holy Spirit guide you as you move forward in this ministry.
In this lesson issues are mentioned about grief that exist but seem to be avoided. Perhaps it's their sensitive nature, or we're ashamed that these situations or feelings exist. Not addressing them hinders the grieving process. Nothing in our life is hidden from God, for God knows our thoughts as well as what we are going to say before we say it. Nothing surprises him, and he wants us to grieve.

The doctrines herein treated are dealt with from the standpoint of Biblical rather than Dogmatic theology. This is evident from the plan which is followed in the work, namely, to gather together all the Scripture passages dealing with the subject under consideration, and then seek to understand the meaning of these references by the study of the text itself as well as its context and parallel passages; and finally, from the selected proof-texts, formulate the doctrinal teaching, and place such results under appropriate headings.
